1Password - Random Password Generator
Random Password Generator
One of the great features of 1Password is that it has a built-in Random Password Generator. Let’s look at this demo entry.
If you already have a login that needs to be updated, search for the record and click Edit.
After clicking edit, click the key icon next to the password field.
You can select whether you want to include Digits(Numbers), Symbols, and the length of the password. Select regenerate if you want a different one than what is made automatically. Then click save after you are happy with the password.
Random Password Generator – New Login
To add a new login press the + Button.
Enter the name username and the password gets automatically generated when you click the password field. If you click the key, you can select whether you want to include Digits(Numbers), Symbols, and the length of the password. Select regenerate if you want a different one than what is made automatically.
APWA recommends all passwords be “AT LEAST” 8 characters long and include symbols and digits preferably. For a “great” password we recommend 16 characters, with 12 being a good middle ground.
